Dear,
I need to understand the exact meaning of the Time window of the simulation in optisystem layout global parameters and how it works in the simulation.
and what is the meaning that “each component works with the same Time window”.
Also if i have a multimode fiber with modal delay or relative delay is greater than the time window, how this will affect my design.
Best regards,
Abdallah
Hi Abdallah,
The time window is the time domain used in the simulation, in other words sampled signals only have time data in a certain range (0, Time Window). Time domain visualizers, as an example, use the time window to correctly display the results, this is why it is a global parameter, so that all visualizers display the same time window.
Time domain signals that are delayed out of the time window are shifted back into the beginning of the time domain. It will not affect your design.
Hope this helps!
