Hi All,
I am working to make a Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator on Opti-FDTD. In the sample supplied by this software there are ring resonator made by taking linear waveguide and ring waveguide. But in most of the research work the ring resonator has been made by modifying the 2-d photonic crystal structure. If am using the 2-d structure where should i place the source and also if line source will be used or point source. An Image is attached below in which i have to give source at point 1. Please help.
Thanks
Hi,
I’m not sure I understand the question about the placement of the source. Are you asking how to do it in the software? It seems like you have the correct placement at point 1.
I would think that you would want to use a line source so you can inject a field that resembles the fundamental mode of the photonic crystal defect waveguide.
