Optiwave software can be used in different industries and applications, including Fiber Optic Communication, Sensing, Pharma/Bio, Military & Satcom, Test & Measurement, Fundamental Research, Solar Panels, Components / Devices, etc..
OptiOmega is a collection of products specialized for photonic integrated circuit simulation. It automates the design flow for
generating compact models from device level simulations. The software package includes two solvers that can be used via
Python scripting: Vector Finite Difference (VFD) Mode Solver and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) Electromagnetic Solvers.

Hi everyone!
Last week I was in a seminar in my country and a first grade electronics engineering student asked the following question:
I am a huge fan of Star Wars(mee too), I am just thinking; Can I make a lightsabers from lasers? Is that possible to rays bring together with optics? What do you think? I know this seems crayz but If its not possible, why? 🙂
Regards..
Pelin
It is possible with LED technology. Have a look this http://www.ultrasabers.com/
Now , go to OptiBPM and try to design it 🙂
But lightsabers with LED will be low power. Thanks Luis 🙂
Pelin you could model a LED with more power. I think laserdiode will do.
cheers
Luis
I think Im gonna be a Jedi soon 😀
Haha, let me know your progress
Cheers
Quite interesting !!
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away… 🙂
Hello eveyone, I think I can modulate a laser with OptiBPM. If I can combined laser diode beam to focus same direction and than reflect to the same source, I can make a lightsaber but low power.
Wish me luck!
Interesting idea how is your progress?
