Hello, May I ask a question? Recently, I got a project to analysis the effect of SBS and SRS by using Optisystem. But I dont know how to define the optical fiber that I used as Brillouin and Raman fiber. May I ask how to define the fiber?

      Hi Junhau,
attached is two examples for SBS and SRS you can use them as a start point to go further with your projects.

      best of luck

Why I cannot open the file? Is it because I uses the old version of optisystem which is Optisystem 7?

      exactly,
try to download the evaluation version of optisystem15 for 1 month.

      best of luck

Ok. Thank you very much for helping.

And I have a one question. May I ask you?

Because now I use the design of Raman scattering separated channels inside the optiststem library. During the analysis, I added the Ideal Demultiplexer but the signal shown on the analyzer and meter for each channel is same. The signal shown is the output of the first channel in the input which is used as the pump signal.

What is the problem? Is it my setting wrong at the Demux part?

      This is the file

      Hi Junhau,
I think it is expected to have the same readings from all output ports!
if you want to separate the channels I think you have to us filters either optical filter before the APD or electrical one.
In this case, you can see some differences of the output signals.
please do not forget to center the Filter on the wavelength for its corresponding channel.

      Hope this clear and helps.

      Hi
Ohh…ok. I know what I should do. Thanks you very much.
Sir, I cannot open the simulation file even I use OptiSystem 15 already. That said about the violation.

      Great,

which file, that you can not open it?

      For the Brillouin one~

    • #48330

just you need to check the Brillouin scattering check_box and you might uncheck all other parameters,
you will see 11GHz back scattered signal which in Brillouin one.

      hope this helps
      thanks

So is it means that I just check the Brillouin scattering in Enhancement and all check boxes for others like dispersion uncheck? Does this means?

      yes, try that pls.

      thanks

      Thank you^^
      May I ask?
For the billouin scattering, i try to uncheck the others but the graph plotted is without any intersection. Instead without uncheck, the output transmitted power is not becoming constant at the SBS limit. Is it my design or setting got something wrong?

      Thank you very much^^
May I ask the brillouin scattering again?
I try the way that sir said. But the graph plotted is without any intersection between the output and backscattered power. Instead without uncheck, there got the intersection point, but the the trend for the output power is not becoming constant at SBS limit. And I try to change some parameters and refering to the article that Sir given and still cannot solve it. Is it my design or any setting is wrong?

I’m new to Optisystem and I want to simulate SBS with the help of optisystem I found a related post in page:

Setting for Brillouin & Raman fiber (Optisystem)

Setting for Brillouin & Raman fiber (Optisystem)

but when I was opening the “SBS-SRS.zip” file in optiwave 15 can’t open the file and these error messages appeared
      for the file “BidirectionalOF_Brillouin_ExDescriptionAndPerformanceEffec_7Feb2018_V1_MA_.osd” :
“Failed to load document from storage”

      for the “NLOF_Brillouin_ExDescriptionAndPerformanceEffec_7Feb2018_V1_MA_.osd”
“A name clash occurred between a system parameter and user parameter in subsystem ’cw laser’ the user parameter was renamed to ’param1’ in only your scripts you must manually rename to param1”

how can I solve this problem ?
